200+ Volunteers Package 2.2 tons of Meals in Florida

Saturday, June 18 was a colossal day for several counties in Central Florida. On that day, over 200 volunteers collected together at the SAFEHUT HQ Warehouse located in Sanford, Florida, to show an outpouring of humanity at the “Feed Florida First” packaging event.

With enthusiasm and excitement, 2.2 tons of food were assembled and packaged totaling 30,000 meals. These meals were distributed to all Central Florida counties by way of The Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The sobering statistic that an estimated 246,519 people go hungry each week in just two Central Florida counties alone was a perfect reason to help make a difference!

This opportunity is being offered  again on November 19, 2011 as a second packaging event titled “Feed Florida First- The Sequel” has been scheduled.  If you would like more information or want to donate to the November 19 event, please contact www.feedfloridafirst.com for details.
